Josette Bushell-Mingo (eng)
Artistic Director for Tyst Teater – part of the National Touring Theatre of Sweden. She is an Actress, Director and Producer and has been involved in different projects in her time here at Riksteatern. Josettes work in England includes Royal Shakespeare Theatre – as an Actress and Director, Manchester Royal Exchange, Royal National Theatre, Theatre Du Complicite and The Young Vic. She has also worked at The National Theatre in Sweden, and at Luleå and Stockholm´s Theatre schools.
Josette has received many awards as an Actress including a Lawrence Oliver nomination for her role as Rafiki, in
The Lion King
, England TMA award for best actress, Charaington award for best actress.
Josette is also known for her work in cultural diversity – and she herself has received Decibel award, South bank award for her organisation PUSH – which works to create artistic platforms for Black British Artists on main stream stages, and questions of identity and responsibility within and without the Black British community.
Josette is a fellow of NESTA , and a member of The Association Of Education and Patron For Barking college of Technology Performing Arts and Lister Performing Arts Centre.
In 2006 Josette received and OBE, from The Queen, for her work in the Arts. Her production

, a co -production with RSC and National Arts Centre of Canada has recently received its second tour after a sell run and critical acclaim and her production

, performed in Swedish Sign Language received huge critical acclaim in Sweden last autumn.
