Oscar

Spring 2023: An honest story about growing up in a family with addiction.

Through this classroom performance, Oscar Frendig tells from the heart about his upbringing in a family with alcohol abuse. We follow a young teenager who tries to make everyday life work at school where he fantasizes about his home situation. The more time he spends with his family, the greater the shame. Inviting friends over is out of the question.

A touching story about a young boy who struggles to find security and be understood. The script is written by the experienced playwright Erik Uddenberg and directed by Lars Otterstedt. Oscar is played for both deaf and hearing children, with two actors who simultaneously tell the story in Swedish sign language and in spoken Swedish. A Riksteatern Crea production in collaboration with Unga Klara.
