Masterclass

The Sign Language Arts Masterclass is an intensive programme for selected sign language artists who wish to deepen their artistic practice and develop their understanding of dramaturgy, visual expression, and creative process.

The Masterclass offers space for exploration, analysis, and exchange. Participants will work with artistic material, reflect on different approaches to sign language-based performance, and investigate how narrative, rhythm, spatiality, visual composition, and the body can shape artistic expression.

A central part of the programme is the connection between theory and practice. Through guided exercises, discussions, and creative exploration, participants will have the opportunity to strengthen both their artistic methods and their ability to analyse and reflect on sign language art.

The Masterclass is designed as a meeting place for artists with experience in sign language-based artistic expression. It supports artistic development, international exchange, and a deeper understanding of the dramaturgical possibilities within sign language arts.

Applications for the Masterclass will open in autumn 2026.
