Collaborating parties

CirkusExpo is organized in collaboration between Riksteatern, The Swedish Arts Council, The Swedish Arts Grants Commitee International Program, The Danish Arts Foundation, Circus and Dance Info Finland, Manegen.

Riksteatern is a people's movement and Sweden's largest producing and touring theatre company with almost 40,000 members and roughly 220 local theatre associations that organizes performing arts across Sweden. Since 2021, Riksteatern has an extended mission from The Ministry of Culture to develop the contemporary circus in Sweden.

The Swedish Arts Council is a government agency responsible for promoting and supporting various forms of cultural activities and artistic expression. It provides funding, grants, and resources to artists, cultural organizations, and projects that contribute to the enrichment and development of Sweden's cultural landscape. The Swedish Arts Council plays a vital role in fostering creativity, diversity, and access to the arts throughout the country.

The Swedish Arts Grants Committee is the government agency responsible for implementing the national artist policies. Professional artists are the very foundation of a living arts scene. Therefore, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee has been mandated by the government since 1976 to promote artists in their artistic practice and development. Our assignment covers to practising artists throughout Sweden in all artistic disciplines.

The Danish Arts Foundation is Denmark’s largest arts foundation. We work to spread the arts to a wide audience all over Denmark, to promote Danish art internationally, and to pave the way for talented artists. We support creative thinking and innovative ideas by funding more than 6,000 artists and art projects every year. Through more than 60 different funding programmes, we fund the production and promotion of both visual arts, film, literature, music, performing arts, architecture, crafts, and design – and all that transcends the borders of these art forms.

Circus & Dance Info Finland is an expert organization working for Finnish circus and dance. Among other things we coordinate the promotion of these art forms abroad by opening new possibilities and connections for Finnish artists and companies, building networks and engaging in and initiating diverse collaboration projects. Organization receives yearly funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Manegen is the national organization of interest for circus, variety show and street performan. Manegen's members are artists, producers, creators, students, big and small Swedish companies.
