Voices of Change - Aynur Doğan

Kurdisk folkmusik med en av vår tids rikaste röster.

Aynurs unika uttryck blandar traditionell kurdisk folkmusik med känslan av samtida västerländsk musik. Hon hyllas inte bara i turkiska medier utan även internationellt och har prytt omslagen på många av de främsta världsmusiktidningarna samt samarbetat med flera hyllade artister, inklusive den världsberömda cellisten Yo-Yo Ma. 2017 mottog Aynur en Master of Mediterranean Music Award av Berklee College of Music och 2021 mottog hon WOMEX 2021 Artist Award. Hon knyter an den unga generationen med rötterna av kurdisk musik, kombinerar skatter från det förflutna med ett musikaliskt språk av idag.

Kurdish folk music with one of the richest voices of our time.

Aynur's unique expression combines traditional Kurdish folk music with the feel of contemporary Western music. Acclaimed not only in Turkish media but also internationally, she has graced the covers of many of the top world music magazines and collaborated with several acclaimed artists, including world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In 2017, Aynur received a Master of Mediterranean Music Award from Berklee College of Music and in 2021 she received the WOMEX 2021 Artist Award. She links the young generation with the roots of Kurdish music, combining treasures from the past with a musical language of today.
