Beat from the Bone

COMPANY: Blind Gut Company (FIN)
ABOUT: Beat from the Bone is like a trance – a rest in the never-ending beat. It is an art-oriented circus performance for big stages, carried by a pulse that is varied but maintained through the show. The piece features five acrobats, wooden planks and aerial ropes.

The Fall

COMPANY: Cikaros (DEN)
ABOUT: Three female artists have worked professionally with (not) falling for over 20 years. Now they share their fear and wonder with theaudience, and unfold the phenomenon of "falling" physically and existentially. The Fall is an absurd, powerful, extraordinary, poetic and moving performance.

CONNECTION

COMPANY: Circus By Me (SWE)
ABOUT: A poetic and acrobatic journey about being logged in but still disconnected. Using circus disciplines such as paracrobatics, Cyr wheel, juggling, and flexibility, a physical representation of human relationships and technological bonds is created. Three artists on stage work in close collaboration with lighting design and object manipulation of lamps and cables.

ABOUT: The show is skillfully blending acrobatics and live music into a sophisticated, precise and exciting composition touring in a circus tent. 10 people on stage play the live music of the show and present the following acts: club passing, swinging trapeze, mini-cyr wheel, perch, magic, flying drums, collective acrobatics, tight wire, skywalk, roller skates, straps and teeterboard.

ABOUT: Alveol is an interactive circus and music performance focusing on sound and movement for children aged 3–6 and their families. Alveol is based on curiosity and children’s own exploration. A circus artist (Cyr wheel) and a musician invite us into an imaginative world where we explore together using our senses of touch and hearing in a playful setting.

COMPANY: Riksteatern (SWE)/&Espoo Theatre (FIN)/ 
Vendsyssel Theatre (DEN)
ABOUT: Something is a new production from Riksteatern, &Espoo Theatre, and Vendsyssel Theatre, written and directed by Camille Boitel and Sève Bernard – An Unintentional Circus. With five Nordic circus artists, the performance is an attempt to a definition of circus.
Premiere in January 2027, followed by a tour in Denmark, Sweden, and Finland.

Häppy Hour

COMPANY: The Nordic Council (FIN)
ABOUT: Häppy Hour is an ode to the deep dark north and its social culture. It grapples with the contradictory relationship to alcohol, interpreting it through the lens of contemporary circus and comedy. By combining juggling, and aerial rope with physical theatre and live music the three performers create scenes around these topics which evokes a feeling of self-recognition in the audience.

COMPANY: Marie Asplund
ABOUT: Together with the artist Marie we travel to the protective and immersive world inside of the womb, created from soft fabrics and patient handcraft, infused with love and time. Here, Marie’s free interpretation of her time in the womb takes place. Her imagined experiences, thoughts and feelings are shaped in a weightless, floating, dramatic and gently crazy aerial play. It is a small scale, philosophical, playful and intimate show, told through movement with handmade costumes and scenography.

They change shape, dissolve and invent themselves in startling formations. Join us for a special screening of A Place in the Ring, a touching documentary that follows the extraordinary journey of Katja Schumann – legendary circus artist, horse trainer, and heir to one of Europe’s most renowned circus dynasties. The film offers an intimate portrait of a woman standing at a turning point in her life’s work: the art of working with horses. From Broadway’s bright lights to a quiet farm in Northern Jutland, we follow Katja’s lifelong dedication to a craft passed down through 
generations – and her struggle to pass it on.

After the screening, Katja Schumann will join us for a live Q&A.
